Photography and Text

"Do not bring people in your life who weigh you down. And trust your instincts...good relationships feel good. They feel right. They don't hurt. They're not painful. That's not just with somebody you want to marry. But it's with the friends that you choose. It's with the people you surround yourselves with." Michelle Obama is a very powerful woman who makes a big statement just with just her presence. The first lady not only has a point on sense of fashion but every photograph taken of her is a strong photo. Michelle has a rep for strongly representing the female population. I believe this quote strongly shows how Michelle is a pro-active woman when it comes to self-enhancement.

One thing I think really made this image strong was the change to black and white. Black and white can often make an image look tacky but in this situation the black and white change makes the photo look strong and dependable. The quote on this picture is lengthy, which can often be distracting or unattractive to some. In this particular situation the text does not take away from the photo. The text is white with a subtle black outline, which really ties the picture together without making one part of the image too dominant over the other.

I chose to write about this photo because there are many things I love about Michelle Obama. One being her fashion sense, so her photos are usually impeccable. Another being her dedication to aspiring people to better themselves. The last thing is that 90 percent of the time I can find a quote that Michelle has said that currently can relate to the situation I am in.
